Automation
Automation in GIS means routine tasks and workflows run without manual intervention: data import, validation, layer publication, report generation, or sync with external sources.
Examples: nightly updates of PDOK layers, automatic buffering around new reports, email on data quality deviations. Scripts, ETL processes, and platform workflows enable this.
Automation does not replace substantive GIS decisions. Rules and thresholds must be explicit; otherwise errors propagate in bulk. Good logging and audit are essential.
