What is Nationaal Georegister?

The Nationaal Georegister (NGR) is the central search catalog for metadata on Dutch geo-information. You find what exists, from whom, under which terms, and how to use datasets and services — without hunting through files.

The NGR links metadata from PDOK, Kadaster, municipalities, provinces, Rijkswaterstaat, and other providers. It is the starting point for finding WMS, WFS, downloads, and descriptions of BAG, BGT, BRT, and thematic sets.

The NGR is not data storage itself: it holds metadata, not full geometry. You fetch actual data via PDOK, WFS, or download; the register helps discovery and compliance.
