Geodata
Geodata (geographic data) is all information tied to a location on Earth: coordinates, addresses, parcels, topography, aerial imagery, elevation, and sensor readings. It is not the same as generic "data" without location.
Sources in the Netherlands: PDOK (BAG, BGT, BRT, BRK, orthophoto), Kadaster, municipalities, Rijkswaterstaat, field surveys, and commercial providers. Formats: GeoJSON, GML, shapefile, GeoTIFF; services: WMS, WFS, REST.
In GIS software and GeoApps, geodata combines with attributes into maps, analyses, and dashboards. Quality, CRS, and currency vary by source — metadata and audit matter alongside the map.
