Geocoding
Geocoding converts an address, postal code, or place name into coordinates (usually WGS84 or RD New). Reverse geocoding converts a point to the nearest address or area.
In the Netherlands the PDOK Location Server is standard for BAG-based geocoding: consistent, current, suitable for bulk and APIs. Essential for dashboards, map-based reports, and linking spreadsheets to GIS.
Geocoding is not GPS measurement or manual map drawing. It is a service linking text to official or commercial address registers; match quality (exact, fuzzy, no result) must be checked.
