Browser
The web browser is the client through which users access web GIS and cloud platforms such as GeoApps without local installation. Modern browsers support WebGL, JavaScript maps, and interactive layers via WMS, WFS, and REST.
Advantages: easy distribution, always current version, works on desktop and tablet. Limitations: offline use, heavy 3D, and large datasets require smart tiling and caching.
The browser is not a GIS server or data source. It displays and interacts with services; PDOK, Kadaster, and your platform provide the data and logic behind the map.
From theory to practice: GeoApps offers user-friendly GIS solutions to get you started right away. Discover how our apps and platforms help you visualize, analyze, and share geographic data.
