Climate Data
Climate data in GIS comprises spatially expressed climatic variables: temperature, precipitation, wind, solar radiation, drought indices. Often as raster (grid per cell) or time series linked to locations.
Applications: urban heat stress, flooding, agriculture, energy transition, adaptation policy. Data from KNMI, EU Copernicus, and climate scenarios combine with BGT/BRT for context.
Climate data is not hourly weather forecast for navigation, but longer-term patterns and scenarios. Currency and resolution vary; metadata on period and model is essential.
